Terms of use

Last updated 12 October 2026

These terms cover your use of yeahnah.org.nz and the figures we publish. By using the site or our figures, you agree to them.

  1. About YeahNah.

YeahNah is a free, public record of how much New Zealand’s best-known websites make a visitor download. We measure them each month.

  2. What our figures are.

Page weights are measured by our bot, or manually by one of our team, using the method described on Our method. Carbon figures are modelled from those weights and are estimates. Figures can vary a little from one visit to the next, and a website can change after we measure it. Every figure carries the date it was measured.

  3. Not advice.

Our figures are information, not professional advice. Do not rely on them for statutory, audited or official emissions reporting, or for decisions where an error could cause you loss.

  4. Publication and corrections.

We publish every result and keep it, with its date, and search engines can find it. We do not remove an accurate result because someone asks us to. If you think a figure is wrong, email hello@yeahnah.org.nz with the page and what you think is wrong. We will check it, measure again if needed, and correct the page with a dated note. Any organisation we measure may ask us to check its result, and we reply within 20 working days.

  5. Using our figures and open data.

You may share, quote and reuse our figures and our open data, including commercially, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). When you do, credit YeahNah and link to the profile the figures came from, or to yeahnah.org.nz, wherever a link is reasonably practicable. Say when the figures were measured, and say if you have changed or combined them. Do not suggest that YeahNah endorses you, your product or your conclusions. Figures from the Chrome UX Report are Google’s, published under CC BY 4.0, and should be credited to Google.

  6. If you republish our figures.

You are responsible for what you publish, including how you describe our figures and any conclusions you draw from them. You publish at your own risk.

  7. Names and logos.

The names of the organisations we measure belong to their owners. Showing them here does not mean they endorse YeahNah, or that we endorse them. YeahNah is not affiliated with Google or with the Sustainable Web Design project.

  8. Using this website.

Please use our open data download rather than copying pages automatically. Do not try to disrupt the website, get around its security, or use it to harass anyone.

  9. Our bot.

How our bot behaves, and how to keep it out, is on Our bot.

  10. Links to other websites.

We link to other websites, including Google’s. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

  11. No warranty, and limits on liability.

YeahNah and its figures are provided free and as they are, without any warranty. To the fullest extent the law allows, YeahNah is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of this website or its figures, by you or by anyone you share them with. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under New Zealand law that cannot be limited.

  12. Changes.

We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and changes apply from that date.

  13. New Zealand law.

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the courts of New Zealand decide any dispute about them.

  14. Contact.
